Effective October 22, 2026.
Eldrow is a free daily word game at eldrow.fun. This policy explains what information Eldrow collects, how it is used, who it is shared with, and how you can have it deleted. Questions go to [email protected].
You can play every puzzle without signing in. Your games, statistics, streak and settings are kept in your own browser's storage on your device. They are not sent to us, and they never leave your device unless you choose to share a result. Clearing your browser's site data deletes them. Eldrow shows no ads.
Anonymous play counts. To know how many people play, the game sends us a few event names (a visit, a game started, finished, won or shared) together with where the visit came from: the site that linked to Eldrow, or the campaign name in the link. These are added to daily totals. They carry no words, guesses, answers, email address, name or any identifier for you or your device, so they cannot be traced back to you.
The only cookies on Eldrow are Meta's and Google Analytics', to measure its ads and see which sites bring players, as described under "Measuring our ads" and "Google Analytics".
Eldrow uses Google Analytics to count page views and see where visitors come from, such as a search engine or a link. It sets Google Analytics cookies and sends Google the page viewed, basic device and browser details, and the same game milestones the pixel gets: a game started, finished, won or shared, and a first sign-in. It never sends the words you play, your guesses, the answer, your email address or your leaderboard name. IP addresses are anonymised, and Google signals and ad personalisation are switched off. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy.
It follows the same choice as the pixel: in Europe (including the UK) it runs only after "Allow"; elsewhere it runs when the page loads. It never runs if you chose "No thanks" or if your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal. You can also block it with Google's opt-out add-on or by blocking cookies for eldrow.fun.
Signing in is optional. It is only needed for the leaderboard, for keeping your streak across devices, and for the daily reminder email. You can sign in with an email code or with Google. When you do, we store:
If you choose "Continue with Google", Google shares your email address, your name and your profile picture with Eldrow, using Google's basic sign-in permissions (openid, email and profile). Eldrow does not request access to your Gmail, contacts, files, calendar or any other Google data.
Eldrow advertises on Facebook and Instagram. To learn which of those ads bring players, the site uses the Meta Pixel, which sets a Meta cookie and sends Meta a few game milestones: that a page was viewed, that a game was started, finished, won or shared, and that someone signed in for the first time. It never sends the words you play, your guesses, the answer, your email address or your leaderboard name. Meta uses this data under its own privacy policy, which also explains how to control ad tracking in your Meta account.
If you are in Europe (including the UK), the pixel runs only if you choose "Allow" when the site asks; choosing "No thanks" keeps it off. Elsewhere it runs when the page loads. You can stop it at any time by blocking or clearing cookies for eldrow.fun.
We use the information above only to run Eldrow: to sign you in, show the leaderboard, keep your streak, and send the reminder you asked for. We do not use your account information for advertising, we do not build profiles, and we do not sell or rent personal information to anyone.
Eldrow uses a few providers to run the game. They process data only on our behalf:
Reminders go out at most once a day, only on days you haven't played. Every reminder has a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can also turn reminders off in the game under Account. Sign-in codes are sent only when you ask for one.
We keep your account information for as long as you have an account. To delete your account and everything stored with it, email [email protected] from the address you sign in with. We delete it within 30 days and confirm by email. Signing out only removes the sign-in from your device; it does not delete your account.
Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Account data is protected by access rules so that a player can only read or change their own information, and the leaderboard shows only names and results.
Eldrow is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we will delete it.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, or to object to how it is used. Email [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days.
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. For significant changes that affect signed-in players, we will also let them know by email.
